A federal lawmaker, Hon. (Dr.) Princess Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji has recorded a strong early endorsement of her stewardship and good representation as stakeholders across the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency unanimously passed a vote of confidence on her performance, barely three months into her tenure at the House of Representatives.

The endorsement followed a Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting held on Saturday at Nandas Hotel, Sagamu, Ogun State, where traditional rulers, community leaders, professionals and civil society representatives gathered to assess the lawmaker’s legislative activities and representation style. The meeting provided a rare platform for open dialogue between the federal lawmaker and her constituents.

With the theme “Towards a United Remo: Legislative Agenda and Strategic Representation,” Hon. Ayoola Elegbeji presented a detailed account of her engagements at the National Assembly since her inauguration three months ago. She outlined bills sponsored, motions moved and other legislative interventions targeted at addressing critical development challenges within the constituency.

"Since my election through the by-election of Saturday, 16 August, 2025, and my swearing-in on 9 October, 2025, I have taken deliberate steps to ensure that Remo Federal Constituency is visible, vocal, and effectively represented in the National Assembly" She disclosed.



The lawmaker explained that her approach to representation is built on continuous consultation, transparency and people-centred governance. She noted that meaningful legislation must be informed by the lived realities of the people, adding that regular engagement with constituents remains central to her mandate.

She also highlighted priority areas for constituency development, including infrastructure, education, healthcare delivery, women and youth empowerment, and wealth creation initiatives. According to her, these focus areas are aimed at promoting inclusive growth and improving the overall quality of life across Remo communities.

A key highlight of the meeting was a presentation by her Technical Adviser on Wealth Creation, Mr. Busola Onayemi, who unveiled proposed programmes designed to stimulate local economic activities, encourage skills acquisition and promote sustainable livelihoods within the constituency.




The importance of unity and collaboration in governance was further underscored by the presence of notable traditional rulers, including HRH Oba Sikiru Ajibowu Adeilo Adeyiga, Onirolu of Irolu Remo; HRH Oba Adesegun Bolaji Alowonle, Elemuren of Emuren; and HRH Oba Dr. Surv. Adetunji Amidu Osho, Alaye Ode of Ode Remo.

Several stakeholders who spoke during the session commended Hon. Ayoola Elegbeji’s openness, accessibility and early performance, describing her leadership as responsive and progressive.




Contributors included Mr. Wasiu Onawole, Secretary of the Iperu Akesan Community Development Association; Prince Abdul Abayomi, President of Sagamites Club and member of the Remo State Creation Committee; Chief Engr. Tayo Opanubi of Ogijo, Sagamu; Alhaja Olaide Owonifari; Barr. Leke Solarin, Honourable Commissioner of the Ogun State Judicial Service Commission; and Otunba Engr. Dele Amoda of Isara Remo.



At the end of the meeting, a communiqué was presented and formally adopted, with a motion moved by Mr. Wasiu Onawole and seconded by Barr. Leke Solarin. Stakeholders thereafter unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the federal lawmaker, pledging their support for her legislative agenda and continued representation.

Describing the meeting as the beginning of a sustained consultative process, Hon. Princess Ayoola Elegbeji announced plans to convene a larger stakeholders’ forum to enable wider participation across the constituency.

    While giving a vote of thanks, Otunba Olaide Okunola , Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Ogun State, expressed gratefulness to the royal fathers and elders for their wisdom, guidance, and steadfast commitment to unity and progress in Remoland. 



   According to him, "the quality of discussion and depth of submissions today clearly reflect a shared vision for a united, prosperous, and well-represented Remo. It is reassuring to see that our future is anchored on experience, intellect, and collective responsibility" . 


Observers noted that the unanimous endorsement reflects growing public confidence in her leadership, marked by early accountability, inclusive engagement and a clear commitment to development-driven representation in Remo.
