2027 Countdown: Daniel, Tinubu Loyalists Endorse Them For Second Term
Loyalists of the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, have formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the senator for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections, signalling an early consolidation of political support in the district.
The endorsement came under the banner of the BATOGD Political Movement during a well-attended gathering held on Sunday at the Luwera Hotel Arena, Oke-Owa, in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The venue was filled to capacity as thousands of supporters trooped out to publicly declare their loyalty to both President Tinubu and Senator Daniel.
The event marked another strategic mobilisation tour by the BATOGD movement across the Ogun East Senatorial District and attracted a wide array of dignitaries.
Among those in attendance were traditional rulers including the Onirete of Irete Ijebu, the Alaye Aba of Aiyepe Ijebu, the Alakan of Ilakan Aiyepe, the Ayanyelu of Ijesha Ijebu, and the Sapenuwa of Odojobore, as well as chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Odogbolu Local Government and other parts of Ogun East.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Daniel disclosed that the Odogbolu meeting marked the seventh engagement tour undertaken by the BATOGD movement in recent months.
He urged party members and supporters to actively participate in the ongoing APC online registration exercise, describing it as a crucial step toward strengthening the party ahead of future elections.
“The e-registration process for the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced. I urge all citizens, young and old, men and women, to take full advantage of this opportunity so that we can collectively support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our senatorial re-election bid,” he said.
Beyond electoral mobilisation, the former Ogun State governor used the occasion to speak on the renewed agitation for the creation of Ijebu-Remo State. He called on Ijebu and Remo indigenes to embrace unity of purpose, noting that the process of state creation is rigorous and cannot succeed without a common front.
“In the current circumstances confronting Ijebuland, the last real hope for accelerated and sustainable development lies in the creation of a new state from the old Ijebu Province,” Daniel stated.
He added that while significant efforts were ongoing behind the scenes, unity remained the most critical factor. “If the National Assembly does not perceive that unity among us, success cannot be guaranteed,” he warned.

The gathering was also marked by a celebratory atmosphere as several APC members benefited from an empowerment programme facilitated by the senator. Supporters went home with various empowerment tools, including fertilizers, refrigerators, motorcycles, power generating sets, wheelchairs, grinding machines, and smart television sets.
The distribution of the items further energised the crowd, reinforcing the combination of political mobilisation and grassroots empowerment that characterised the BATOGD movement’s latest engagement in Ogun East.
