The newly elected governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has said he will win the coming gubernatorial election and become the next governor of the State.
Speaking during the Channels Television programme, Politics Today, Ize-Iyamu assured Edo people that in spite of the series of obstacles mounted on his way he had assurance that God would give him victory.
"You will be the first to congratulate me after the election in September," he told Seun Okinbaloye, the presenter of the programme.
Ize-Iyamu who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the 2016 governorship election emerged the APC candidate on Monday at the party's primary, during which he polled 27,838 votes, to defeat his rivals Pius Odubu and Osaro Obaze who garnered 3,776 votes and 2,724 votes respectively.
