2027: Ogun Youths Unite Behind Tinubu, Abiodun and Yayi as YPM Holds Peaceful Trek

The Youth and Students Wings of the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) on Wednesday took to the streets of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, in a peaceful solidarity trek to reaffirm their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The youth group also declared its support for Governor Abiodun’s senatorial ambition and Senator Adeola’s governorship bid, describing the trio as leaders whose contributions and developmental initiatives have continued to inspire confidence among young people in Ogun State.

The solidarity walk attracted scores of youths, students, party supporters and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who converged at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, before embarking on a peaceful march through major streets of Abeokuta.

Carrying banners and placards, the participants chanted solidarity songs and slogans in support of President Tinubu, Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola.

They also expressed confidence in the leadership of the three political figures while commending Senator Adeola for his empowerment programmes, constituency projects and contributions to grassroots development.

Speaking during the event, the Convener of YPM, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, said the solidarity trek was organised to mobilise young people to remain actively involved in the democratic process and to reaffirm the movement’s commitment to the ideals and leadership of the APC.

According to him, the walk was dedicated to the group’s three leaders—President Tinubu, Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola.

This solidarity trek is for our three leaders; President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi,”

Akintunde said.

He noted that Senator Adeola had made significant impacts in the lives of young people across Ogun State through empowerment programmes and developmental initiatives.

“We have every reason to support him because we are confident that, come 2027, he will record a landslide victory,” he said.

Akintunde added that President Tinubu’s reforms, alongside Senator Adeola’s record in youth empowerment, infrastructure development and constituency projects, had continued to motivate many young people to support their leadership.

Also speaking, the Co-Convener of YPM, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, said the movement remained committed to promoting the ideals of the APC and strengthening youth participation in the political process.

He described Senator Adeola as the leader of the movement and its preferred governorship candidate, urging residents of Ogun State to continue supporting policies and programmes aimed at stimulating economic growth, creating employment opportunities and improving the standard of living across the state.

The youth and students’ wings of YPM described the solidarity trek as peaceful, orderly and purposeful, noting that it was organised to promote unity, encourage greater political participation and sustain youth engagement as preparations gradually gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.

The event further underscored the movement’s determination to mobilise young people across Ogun State in support of President Tinubu, Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola as the state moves closer to the 2027 electoral season.
