Eid Mubarak: Ogun East PDP Candidate, Omotayo, Calls for Reflection, Generosity, Peace

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District, Alhaji AbdulHameed Femi Omotayo (Omo-Owo), has called on Nigerians to embrace the virtues of reflection, generosity and peaceful coexistence as Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-ul-Adha.

Omotayo made the call in his Eid-el-Kabir goodwill message to Muslims in Ogun State, Nigeria and across the globe, urging citizens to use the occasion to promote unity, compassion and love for one another.

The PDP senatorial candidate congratulated Muslim faithful on witnessing yet another Eid celebration, praying that Allah accepts their prayers, sacrifices and acts of worship.

According to him, Eid-ul-Adha is not merely a festive period, but a season that symbolises sacrifice, obedience to God and compassion towards humanity, especially the less privileged.

“On this blessed day of Eid-ul-Adha, I extend my warmest greetings to every Muslim brother and sister across Nigeria and beyond. Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum — may Allah accept our prayers and sacrifices,” he stated.

Omotayo noted that having spent many years serving Islamic communities across the country, the significance of the festival remains deeply meaningful to him.

He also appealed to Nigerians, irrespective of religion or ethnic background, to imbibe the spirit of unity and tolerance, stressing that the country needs more of the values symbolised by Eid.

“But today, I also speak to every Nigerian — Muslim, Christian and of every tradition. The spirit of Eid is a spirit we all share and one that Nigeria needs more of.

“May this Eid bring peace to every home. May it bring healing to our nation. And may it remind us that what unites us is far greater than what divides us,” he added.

The Ogun East PDP candidate further wished Nigerians at home and in the diaspora a peaceful and joyous celebration, praying for continued blessings, peace and progress for the nation.

“Eid Mubarak to my family, friends and all Nigerians near and far. May Allah bless us all,” the statement concluded.
