Easter Reflection: Dr Gloria Shoda Emphasizes Hope in Challenging Times.

The President of the Africa Regional Council of Women and Board Member of the International Council of Women, Dr Gloria Laraba Shoda, has called on Christian women and families in Nigeria, across Africa, and around the world to remain steadfast in faith and look unto God amid prevailing global economic challenges.

In her Easter message, Dr. Shoda urged believers not to lose hope despite the rising economic difficulties affecting nations and households, stressing that the resurrection of Jesus Christ remains a powerful assurance of divine hope and restoration.

Quoting from the Holy Bible, she reminded Christians that “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27), noting that this eternal truth should inspire confidence, resilience, and unwavering trust in God’s provision, even in uncertain times.

“Easter is a season that reassures us that no matter how difficult the times may seem, our hope in Christ is alive and unfailing. As women and families, we must anchor our faith in God, knowing that He is able to sustain, provide, and lead us through every challenge,” she stated.

Dr. Shoda also extended heartfelt prayers to women and families in Plateau State and other parts of Nigeria, as well as communities across the world currently facing various forms of attacks, violence, and war. She prayed that God would comfort all those who are grieving, strengthen those living in fear, and bring lasting peace to troubled regions.

She further prayed for divine provision for families experiencing hardship, asking God to meet their needs and restore joy, stability, and security in their lives.

“May the risen Christ bring healing to the brokenhearted, peace to our nations, and renewed hope to every home. Let us continue to stand in faith, knowing that God is ever-present and faithful,” she added.

Dr. Shoda concluded by encouraging Christian women to remain pillars of strength, faith, and unity within their families and communities, especially during these challenging times.
