Yayi Progressives Movement Reaffirms Loyalty to Senator Adeola With Fresh Campaign Support
By Our Correspondent
The Yayi Progressives Movement, a political support group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, has reaffirmed its support for Senator Solomon Adeola with the donation of campaign materials and food items to the senator ahead of his campaign activities.
The presentation, which took place on Thursday, was attended by the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Balogun (nee Adegunwa); Commissioner for Budget, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan; Hon. Adekunle Akinlade; Hon. Babatunde Olaotan; and other party stakeholders.
Selected representatives of the movement presented the items to the senator during the gathering.
Speaking at the occasion, Adeola commended members of the Yayi Progressives Movement for what he described as their consistent contributions to his political aspirations.
He specifically acknowledged the efforts of the movement's Convener, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, as well as other members for their various activities since the group's inauguration.
Adeola recalled some of the initiatives undertaken by the movement, including the donation of 27 buses and a solidarity trek, among other activities.
He urged members of the group to sustain their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that the success of the APC would ultimately benefit the people of Ogun State.
The senator's remarks came against the backdrop of increasing political mobilisation by various groups ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement released to journalists on Friday through the movement's Director of Media and Communications, Comrade Oluseun Joshua, Akintunde said his support for Adeola had been based on a clear sense of purpose and predated the formation of DACA.
He said the people of Ogun State were now witnessing the outcome of the commitment demonstrated over the years.
Describing Adeola as a father figure to many members of the movement, Akintunde said the group would continue to give him its full support.
He explained that Adeola had previously directed members to mobilise support for APC candidates across Ogun State, even before the formation of DACA and the subsequent emergence of the Yayi Progressives Movement.
According to him, the election of Adeola remains a major assignment for members of the movement.
Akintunde also expressed appreciation to members of the group for their efforts towards achieving its political objective.
He said: “Our principal, distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola ‘Yayi’, is a father to many of us. He has demonstrated this in many ways. There is no amount of effort we can put together that would prevent him from enjoying our full support.”
He added that members remained committed to the mobilisation of support for Adeola and other APC candidates in the state.
Also speaking, the Deputy Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Yakubu Lukman, commended Adeola for his leadership qualities and his support for members of the group at various levels.
Lookman also praised the leadership of the Yayi Progressives Movement for providing opportunities for members to mobilise and work collectively towards the group's political objective.
The latest donation is one of several activities undertaken by the group as it continues its mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
