The Omoluabi Political Movement in Ogun State has congratulated Governor Dapo Abiodun and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state following their re-election at the party’s State Congress held in Abeokuta.
At the congress conducted on Tuesday at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, the Ogun APC executive committee, led by State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, alongside 35 other members, secured another four-year mandate to continue steering the affairs of the party.
The exercise was supervised by the APC Congress Committee Chairman, Chief Wale Ohu, and monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Governor Abiodun and other prominent party leaders were present at the event.
In a statement issued to journalists in Abeokuta by the Movement’s Media and Publicity Director, Oluseun Joshua, the Convener of the Omoluabi Movement, Armstrong ’Tope Akintunde, described the outcome of the congress as a reflection of the confidence party members have in the current leadership.
According to Akintunde, the re-election of the Sanusi-led executive underscores their dedication, loyalty, and consistent service to the APC in Ogun State.
“What we witnessed at the State Congress is a clear testament to the achievements of our party’s leadership under Governor Dapo Abiodun and Chief Yemi Sanusi.
"Their steadfast commitment to strengthening the party structure and promoting unity has not gone unnoticed,” he said.
He further noted that the APC in Ogun State has experienced notable internal cohesion under the present leadership, attributing the party’s stability to effective collaboration between the governor and the state executive committee.
“The Ogun APC today stands united under one umbrella. The synergy between the governor and the party executives has translated into tangible political gains and strengthened the party’s grassroots appeal,” Akintunde added.

The Omoluabi Movement also emphasized that sustained support from party members is often a reward for credible performance, stressing that the renewed mandate reflects trust in leaders who have fulfilled their responsibilities.
In his reaction, the State Coordinator of the Movement, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, described the victory of the executives as widely anticipated, citing their efforts in expanding the party’s influence across the state.
Kaka pointed to ongoing political realignments, noting that members of opposition parties have continued to defect to the APC in Ogun State — a development he said demonstrates growing confidence in the leadership of Governor Abiodun and Chief Yemi Sanusi.
He assured that the Omoluabi Movement would intensify mobilisation efforts in support of the party ahead of future political activities, reaffirming its commitment to the APC’s programmes and leadership in Ogun State.
