 ICAN President to inaugurate Remo & District Society in Sagamu May 28.

The President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Chief Davidson C.S. Alaribe, will inaugurate Remo & District Society  this Wednesday, May 28, inside the multi-purpose hall of Akarigbo Palace, in Sagamu, Ogun State.

The event scheduled to start by 11:am, will have the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land, HRM Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, as the Royal Father of the Day, while the recently retired Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Shakirat Madein as one of the Special Guests of Honour. 

Successful People Magazine gathered that a former chairman of ICAN Abeokuta &  District Society, Alhaji Femi Ogunsanya, who is a fellow of the Institute, will be inaugurated as the Pioneer Chairman of the newly formed Remo & District Society, while the former Managing Director of Sagamu Microfinance Bank, Prince Adewale Abiodun Kalejaye will be inaugurated as the Pioneer Vice Chairman, along with other executive members, during the ceremony.

A Lagos based accountant and prince from Remo Land who spoke with Successful People Magazine on this new development, Prince Adegboyega Sonoiki, said the inauguration will enable a lot of chartered accountants in the various private and public organizations in Remo to be able to join the society; instead of having to go to Lagos, Abeokuta or Ijebu Ode for membership of the ICAN.

According to Prince Sonoiki, it will also give young or student accountants who have not become associates, the opportunity of being able to climb the ladder of ICAN professional leadership to the top.

Remo Land is the home of one of the past ICAN Presidents, late Prince Adebajo Abiodun Babington-Ashaye and many other prominent Nigerians like: immediate past Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land, Late Oba (Dr) Michael Adeniyi Shonariwo, and the  present Akarigbo, HRM Oba (Dr) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the retired Accountant General of the Federation, Dr Oluwatoyin Shakirat Madein and Nigeria Doyenne of taxation, Mrs Morenike Tejuade Babington-Ashaye, among others, who are all fellows of the ICAN.
