 Akarigbo charges Iyaloja General To Revitalize Moribund Sagamu International Market

The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, HRM Oba (Dr) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, has charged the newly installed Iyaloja General of Sagamu Local Government, Chief Olasumbo Nelly, to utilise her position to revitalise the moribund Sagamu International Market towards achieving its commercial purpose in the area.

Oba Ajayi gave the admonition during the installation of the new Iyaloja General held at the Multipurpose Hall, Akarigbo’s Palace, Ita Oba, Sagamu.

The traditional ruler noted that the market was established to complement other markets and to give access to quality and affordable items, while emphasising the need to revitalise it to fulfill this purpose.

He congratulated the new Iyaloja General on her appointment, saying that she deserves the new role, considering her leadership quality.

The Monarch advised her to promote healthy relationships with other Iyaloja Generals across the State and ensure peaceful coexistence among market men and women so as to enhance economic prosperity of the area.

He prayed that her tenure would usher in progress and development for the community.

In his remarks, the Asiwaju of Remo land, Asiwaju Solomon Onafowokan congratulated Chief Nelly for the well-deserved honour, saying that her unique qualities, warm inter-personal relationship and networking have accorded her the honour.

Responding, Chief Nelly expressed her profound gratitude for the honour, and pledged to serve with integrity, fairness and dedication towards promoting the socio- economic wellbeing of market men and women in the area.
