The OGD's 69th. birthday bash started on Friday when the Chairman, Senate Committee on Works, Senator Barry Mpigi Barinada hosted a surprise birthday for Otunba Gbenga Daniel at his Port Harcourt residence.
In what depicted Distinguished Senators' Afairs, aa other senators like: Sen. Osita Ngwu, Sen. Nwebonyi Onyekachi, Sen. Tony Nwoye, Sen. Diket Plang, Sen. Anthony Okorie Ani, Sen. Jiya Peter, Sen. Pam Nwadkon Dachungyang, Sen. Musa Mustapha, Sen. Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Sen. Victor Umeh, Sen. Kenneth Eze, Sen. Patrick Ndubueze, Sen. A.J. Jarigbe, Sen. Adeyemi Adaramodu, Sen. Benson Friday Konbowei, Sen. Kelvin Chukwu, Sen. Abdulaziz  Yar'Adua.

On this his special day, Sunday April 6, he held a low key birthday ceremony with the expectation that his milestone birthday is coming next year, when he will be 70years old. By then he can paint the streets red, and role out the drums in appreciation of God's faithfulness and mercy for keeping him alive to celebrate the 70th birthday.

In spite of the low-key, a lot of congratulatory messages were sent by his political associates, aides, proteges, friends, family members and other well wishers, to express their love for him and thank God for his life.
