The Senate Majority Leader noted that the multi-tiered interventions by the Presidency and National Assembly have yielded positive results, including the commencement of operations by Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals, as well as the revival of the Port Harcourt Refining Company and Warri Refining & Petrochemicals Company.
These developments, according to him, have contributed to Nigeria's gradual stability, fiscal and monetary-wise.
Bamidele emphasized that the National Assembly's parliamentary agenda, which emphasizes strategic collaboration among government arms, has been instrumental in achieving these milestones.
"I am excited to highlight the steady growth in our gross domestic products throughout 2024, with a growth rate of 2.98% in the first quarter, 3.19% in the second quarter, 3.46% in the third quarter, and a projected 4% growth rate in the fourth quarter" He explained.
He also highlighted the reduction in the debt-service-revenue ratio from 97% in June 2023 to 65% in November 2024, with expectations of further shrinkage in the new year.
Looking ahead to 2025, Bamidele identified key legislative priorities, including the scrutiny of the Appropriation Bill, 2025, Tax Reform Bills, 2024, and the investigation of economic sabotage in the petroleum industry.
