 Akesan Day 2025: Omoluabi Movement Celebrates Gov. Abiodun and Iperu’s Cultural Pride

The Omoluabi Movement, a prominent political group in Ogun State convened by Iperu-born real estate magnate and mobiliser Armstrong ’Tope Akintunde, has congratulated the people of Iperu and Governor Dapo Abiodun on the successful hosting of the 2025 Akesan Day celebrations.

Iperu, the hometown of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, once again came alive with colour, culture, and fanfare as the age-long Akesan Day festival held at the iconic Apollo Ground drew indigenes and guests from far and near.

In a goodwill message issued under the supervision of Hon. Olusegun Kaka, the Omoluabi Movement described Akesan Day as a festival that has grown beyond a local celebration into an international cultural spectacle.
The group commended Governor Abiodun for his steadfast support, noting that his leadership has elevated Iperu’s cultural visibility within Remoland and beyond.

Convener of the movement, Armstrong ’Tope Akintunde, emphasized the importance of Akesan Day as a unifying sociocultural event that brings together Iperu sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora.

“I sincerely commend our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his unwavering support. What we witness today during Akesan Day is the result of collective effort and the exceptional leadership prowess of our tireless political icon and Governor.”

Akintunde further praised the governor’s political disposition, describing it as a force for renewal, reformation, and transformative governance, grounded in the effective utilization of human and natural resources.

Reflecting on the emergence of the Omoluabi Movement, he noted that the group represents more than a political structure. It is, he said, a clarion call for responsible leadership and civic engagement, championing a model of politics driven by service, values, and the collective good.

As Ogun State continues to evolve under the visionary leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, our movement—the Omoluabi Movement—will remain pivotal in shaping its future,

The 2025 Akesan Day celebration drew an impressive assembly of political figures, community leaders, youths, chiefs, and Otunbas, all united under the leadership and support of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
