Dr. Madein Felicitates Indigenes Reaffirms Commitment to Community Development at 39th Akesan Day

Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, the first female Accountant-General of the Federation, has felicitated the sons and daughters of Iperu-Akesan Land on the successful celebration of the 39th Akesan Day, held on Saturday, 29 November 2025.

Speaking as Mother of the Day, Dr. MADEIN expressed profound joy and gratitude to God for witnessing yet another edition of the historic festival, describing Akesan Day as a proud symbol of the community’s unity, cultural heritage, and shared commitment to development.

Dr. MADEIN, who dedicated her historic appointment as the first woman to serve as Accountant-General of the Federation to God and the industrious people of Iperu-Akesan Land, reaffirmed her steadfast commitment to the progress of the town.

 She highlighted a number of federal projects and employment opportunities she facilitated for the benefit of the community. These include the Iperu Irrigation and Dam Project, Mini Stadium and Sports Arena, Vocational Skills Acquisition Centre, solar-powered street lighting, road, and various youth and women empowerment initiatives.

She further noted that several additional community-enhancing projects she championed are already underway. Among them are flood and erosion control works, a Sports Pavilion for Christ Apostolic Grammar School, a Garri Processing Centre, digital skills training for youths, additional solar streetlights, and solar-powered boreholes.

On personal initiatives, Dr. MADEIN stated that the newly-commissioned Olowo Oloye ICT Centre was established by her foundation to equip young people with modern digital skills.

She emphasized that the Olowo Oloye Foundation remains active in educational support, healthcare outreach, and economic empowerment programmes for women, widows, the elderly, and youths across Iperu.

She congratulated the Iperu Regency Council, royal fathers, the Iperu Akesan Development Association, the 2025 Akesan Day Planning Committee, and all indigenes both at home and abroad for their steadfast commitment to the peace and progress of the homeland.

Praying for enduring peace, unity, and prosperity in Iperu-Akesan Land, Dr. MADEIN expressed optimism that future editions of Akesan Day will usher in even greater milestones of growth and shared advancement.
