It was a breathtaking display of royalty, heritage, and love as Prince Adewale Oriola Adeyemi, an illustrious Ijebu prince and accomplished barrister, tied the knot with his heartthrob, Princess Temilade Remi Adeoye, in a grand traditional wedding that lit up the city of Lagos.

The spectacular ceremony, held at the luxurious Five Palm Event Centre, Oniru, Lekki, transformed the atmosphere into a scene of regal splendour. From the vibrant aso-oke attires to the rhythm of traditional drums, the event radiated the timeless charm and pride of Ijebu culture.

Guests from far and near, including high-ranking royal fathers, business magnates, cultural icons, and government dignitaries, gathered in elegant fashion to witness the union of two noble bloodlines whose roots run deep in the ancient kingdom of Ijebu.

Prince Adewale Oriola Adeyemi, grandson of the late Prince Fasasi Adebisi Adeyemi (popularly known as Obanlefa), hails from the revered Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu-Ode, a lineage known for leadership, wisdom, and commitment to community service. His bride, Princess Temilade Remi Adeoye, is the daughter of the late Oba Aderemi Adeoye, the first Lamuren of Oke-Lamuren in Ijebuland — a monarch remembered for his devotion to peace, unity, and cultural advancement.

Their union was not only a celebration of love but also a symbolic merging of two proud royal houses whose history and values have shaped the fabric of Ijebu tradition for generations.

As the bride and groom made their royal entrance, adorned in elegant attire that reflected both their noble heritage and contemporary elegance, the hall erupted in applause. The air was filled with the sound of talking drums and joyful chants of “Kabiyesi o!” as family and friends blessed the couple with prayers and gifts.

“This is not just a wedding; it is a testimony to the strength and continuity of Ijebu royalty. Both families have served the Ijebu nation with honour, and now this couple will carry that torch forward,"

Speaking at the event, Prince Adeleke Adeyemi, a member of the Olufadi royal family, described the marriage as a divine continuation of royal heritage.

“This is not just a wedding; it is a testimony to the strength and continuity of Ijebu royalty. Both families have served the Ijebu nation with honour, and now this couple will carry that torch forward," he said.

"As a proud son of Ijebuland, I prayed for a partner who embodies our royal values of dignity, grace, and humility. Princess Temilade is that woman — a true daughter of royalty, and the crown jewel of my heart".

Beaming with joy, the groom, Prince Adewale Oriola, shared heartfelt words about his new wife, describing her as his “virtuous royal woman.”

“As a proud son of Ijebuland, I prayed for a partner who embodies our royal values of dignity, grace, and humility. Princess Temilade is that woman — a true daughter of royalty, and the crown jewel of my heart.” he explained.

Princess Temilade, equally radiant, expressed her gratitude to God, their families, and well-wishers, promising to uphold the royal virtues of her lineage while building a home rooted in love and mutual respect.

The seven-hour celebration was a captivating blend of culture and class — with traditional performances, royal blessings, and elegant feasting that showcased the richness of Ijebu identity.

From the shimmering coral beads to the golden headpieces and the royal dance that sealed their vows, every detail of the ceremony echoed with pride and purpose. It was not merely a wedding, but a cultural renaissance — a moment where love and lineage intertwined beautifully.

As the night drew to a close, the newlyweds received blessings from elders, surrounded by chants of joy and hopes for a prosperous union.
