Insecurity: Taraba Gov asks FG to allow every Nigerian owns a gun to protect themselves

By Our Reporter
In order to reduce the spate of killings, kidnapping and other causes of insecurity in Nigeria Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku  has asked the Federal Government to allow every Nigeria citizen to own a gun to protect themselves.
He stated this in Jalingo while receiving those who paid him a condolence visit in his office on Wednesday.
"If one thing you do every day is not working then you need to go and find advice from someone to tell you how to do different things to get it correct.
"You can't keep doing the same wrong thing over and over. And if we can not provide security for all our citizens, then allow all the citizens to buy A.K-47.
"If everybody is licensed with AK-47, I swear nobody will come to your house. And if he comes then it will depend on who is faster.
"But in a situation where we're all gagged with one particular security system that has been unable to work. And we're told to sit down and be counting the days our turn will come, I don't agree with it." He said, emphatically.
He sympathised with the families of all those that have lost their lives due to kidnappings and killings.
The Governor had signed into law a bill that prescribes death sentence and life imprisonment for kidnappers and abduction offenders in the state in 2019, in view of the spate of insecurity in the state.
