The President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, via the letter, stated that Senator Adeola was the second senator to represent the South West geopolitical zone of the country from the National Assembly in the NEC of APC .
Lawan pointed out that Senator Adeola’s nomination "was pursuant of Article 12(3)XXXii, XXXV, and XXXVi of the Constitution of APC which provides for the membership of the President of the Senate,
"Deputy Senate President of the Senate, Majority or Minority Leader, Party Whip and their deputies, and two serving Senators from each geo-political zone of the country as members of the National Executive Committee." He explained
In a press statement from Chief Kayode Odunaro, the Media Adviser to Senator Adeola, it was disclosed that his consistent loyalty to the APC since its formation and adherence to party directives before, during and after 2019 elections must be responsible for his appointment"
This appointment, of course, "is an opportunity for robust representation to further build the party and take it to greater heights." Odunaro said.
