Former Nigeria Ambassador to The Netherlands, Dr Olatokunbo Awolowo Dosumu and Nigeria industrial giant, Asiwaju Solomon Kayode Onafowokan were on Sunday honoured with Citizen-of-the-Year Awards by a distinguished club, The Collectives.
While Asiwaju Onafowokan was bestowed with Remo Global Citizen-of-the-Year, Dr Awolowo Dosumu was honoured with Remo Citizen-of-the-Year award.
The special awards were presented to them at the Akarigbo Palace Hall, Sagamu, Ogun State, during the 3rd Royal Banquet the club held in honour of the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, HRM Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi.
While Asiwaju Onafowokan was bestowed with Remo Global Citizen-of-the-Year, Dr Awolowo Dosumu was honoured with Remo Citizen-of-the-Year award.
The special awards were presented to them at the Akarigbo Palace Hall, Sagamu, Ogun State, during the 3rd Royal Banquet the club held in honour of the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, HRM Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi.
Another man of substance bestowed with the club’s award is the Founder/Director, E-Based Socio-Educational Foundation (ESEF), Prof Adewale Ogunbase who was honoured with Remo Distinguished Personality 2019.
Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel presented the award to Dr Awolowo Dosumu and Prof Ogunbase. Oba Ajayi presented the award plaque to Asiwaju Onafowokan, who came to the event later, after Otunba Daniel has left the venue.
Giving reasons for the awards, the President of the club, Mr Sammy Ogunjimi said it was in recognition of the awardees immense contributions to the development of Remoland and their supports for The Collectives.
The awards were to spur them to keep doing more and to encourage other people to emulate them, because everything one does will surely be rewarded one day.
