Hon.Ayoola-Elegbeji Empowers Remo's Future With Tech Upskill Programme:15 Youths Graduate, Four Bag Scholarships

In Sagamu, the headquarters of Remo Land, Ogun State, a digital revolution is quietly brewing; and it’s being led not by Silicon Valley, but by a woman with a bold vision and a passion for change.
Hon. Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, the Commissioner for Ogun State Judicial Service Commission and a House of Representatives aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), is rewriting the narrative of youth empowerment in Remo. Through her Ayoola-Elegbeji Foundation, she organized a graduation ceremony last Saturday, that marked the turning point in the lives of 15 young men and women—graduates of a transformative Tech Upskill Program. The whole thing started three months ago, with two weeks of intensive virtual trainings.
The initiative, facilitated by tech educator Janet Boluwatife Olaolu through her Empower Youth Voices, which was born out of a singular purpose: to bridge the digital divide and arm Remo’s youth with the skills of the future.
Out of nearly 200 applicants from across Ogun State, only 63 who are mainly from Remo, made the shortlist. In the end, 15 stood tall—having met rigorous standards in attendance, practicals, and exams. The tech and digital courses they learned included: Software Development, Cyber security, Digital Marketing, Product Design (UI/UX) and Data Analysis.

Speaking on the integrity of the convener and sponsor of the project, the facilitator; Miss Janet Olaolu, disclosed that Hon Ayoola-Elegbeji, didn't bring in dirty politics into the selection of the participants, as some people normally do. She allowed them to do it the right way. And she insisted on merit consideration as the criterion for qualifications. No favouritism or nepotism.
The outcome? All those who participated in the selection process and those who passed the exams emerged through their display of competence. This established the fact that they will be able to face the challenges involved in those tech practices wherever they go across the world.

Their prize? Not just certificates, but a future rewritten. Lucrative courses that can turn them into multimillionaires in a short while, because, as Janet said, they are going to keep mentoring them, to let them perform better in their various chosen careers.
Among the 15, four stars however shone especially bright—Babalola Micheal Olayemi, Idowu Osubu, Mercy John, and David Badun—each earning a full-year scholarship to study high-demand tech courses at AltSchool Africa. From software engineering to data analysis, products management and cybersecurity, they now stand at the gateway of global opportunities, with laptops replacing lanterns and code replacing confusion.
This is more than a program. It’s a movement to unlock Remo’s potential and prepare our youths for a future that is already here.
At the heart of the graduation ceremony was not just celebration, but inspiration. Hon. Ayoola-Elegbeji, speaking with conviction, reminded attendees that technology is not just a career path, but a weapon against poverty and a lever for transformation.
“This is more than a program,” she said. “It’s a movement to unlock Remo’s potential and prepare our youths for a future that is already here.”
Her words echoed a broader mission: to reposition Remo as a cradle of tech talent and innovation in Nigeria. And the support she received on the day proved that this mission is shared by many.
Royal Endorsements and Commendations
The event was graced by high-profile guests, including Dr. Dapo Odukoya, Commissioner 1 of the Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission, Abeokuta, and HRH Oba Kolawole Adeshina Adeyemi, the Negbuwa of Ibido Kingdom, Sagamu.
Also in attendance were : the Chairman of Remo Youths Association, Comrade Bidemi Solarin, one of the leaders of Remo Youth Association; Comrade Aremu Adekunle Ashaye, and the CEO of Heritage Culture and Hospitality Limited, Omooba Abiola Ogundeko.

Ogundeko spoke to the course participants and scholarship awardees on the need for them to not just acquire tech skills, but to develop social network that can help them grow their net worth.
In a stirring speech, the monarch urged those Remo’s youth who engaged in nefarious activities to abandon shortcuts to wealth like internet fraud and cultism and instead pursue “diligence, honesty, and innovation.”
He praised the foundation’s efforts and gave his royal blessing to Hon. Ayoola-Elegbeji for her bold step toward youth empowerment.

Likewise in his own speech, Dr. Odukoya didn’t mince words. “You no longer need to travel abroad to earn in dollars,” he declared. “With the right tech skills, you can sit in your room in Sagamu , or anywhere in Remo and work for companies in San Francisco.”
He lauded Hon. Ayoola-Elegbeji’s personal sacrifice and investment in the next generation, calling it “a gift that will keep giving.”
Hope in the Words of a Dreamer
Perhaps the most emotional moment came when scholarship recipient David Badun took the stage. In a moving testimony, he shared how the training changed his life—and how he plans to pay it forward.
“I came here uncertain,” he said, his voice trembling. “But I leave here equipped—with skills, with confidence, and with a burning desire to help others like me.”
A Seed Planted, A Future Secured
As the applause faded and certificates were handed out, one thing was clear: the Ayoola-Elegbeji Tech Upskill Program is more than an event—it’s a spark. A spark that will ignite ambition, open doors, and turn Remo’s youth into relevant players in the Digital World.

The Remo tech revolution has begun. It's a model that, if replicated, could change not just communities—but the entire region, because of its riffle effects. And at its core is a belief that with the right tools, even the smallest towns in Remo can produce global giants.
