The leadership of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, has once again been reaffirmed, as its Secretary, Prince Adeleke Adeyemi, declared that Prince Otunba Adedokun Ajidagba remains the authentic Olori-Ebi (head) of the royal family.

Prince Adeyemi, who also serves as the General Secretary of the four ruling houses that produce the Awujale of Ijebuland, said Ajidagba’s leadership is firmly rooted in history, validated by archival records, and backed by court rulings and government recognition.

Speaking during an interactive session with journalists at his Onirungba office in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, Adeleke stressed that the family stands united and will not be distracted by controversies surrounding succession.

“I have said this repeatedly, our family has the backing of history and facts preserved by our forefathers at Ilenla Compound, Agunsebi. These facts are indisputable,” he said.

He further explained that official certifications, judicial pronouncements, and royal correspondence collectively strengthen Ajidagba’s legitimacy. Among the documents cited were:

  • A court judgment by Justice A.O. Asenuga of the Ijebu-Ode High Court ruling against the selection of Otunba Lateef Owoyemi as Olori-Ebi.
  • An affirmation certificate issued by the Ijebu-Ode Local Government.
  • Letters of solidarity from other ruling houses for family prayers and gatherings.
  • An official appointment letter from the Ogun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (November 2023).
  • A family registration certificate issued in April 2022.

He also noted historic correspondences from the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba S.K. Adetona, and a 2018 letter of appreciation from former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, to the late Prince Adebisi Adeyemi, a former Olori-Ebi of the ruling house.

“Prince Ajidagba represents not just the present leadership of the Fusengbuwa family, but a secured legacy for generations to come,” he added

According to Adeleke, these records provide not only legitimacy for Ajidagba’s leadership but also a solid framework to guide succession matters for future generations.

“Prince Ajidagba represents not just the present leadership of the Fusengbuwa family, but a secured legacy for generations to come,” he added.

With the harmony of judicial validation, royal recognition, and government certification, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House has now positioned Ajidagba’s leadership as both legitimate and enduring in Ijebu-Ode’s royal heritage.
