Tinubu, Shettima, Akpabio, others pay Lagbaja, late COAS last respect.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice president Ibrahim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, other top government officials and dignitaries from all works of life on Friday paid their last respect to the late Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja at the Military National Cemetery, Abuja, where he was laid to rest.
At the ceremony were the deceased's widow, Mrs Maria Lagbaja and children.
He was given full military honour, even as President Tinubu gave him post-humous award of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, CFR.
His wife was called out to receive the award while Tinubu extolled the late military general for his contributions to the defence of Nigeria.
Tinubu charged the military to emulate Lagbaja in the discharge of their duties and commitment to fighting insurgency to protect Nigerians and the country.
He then pledged to continue to offer more support to the military as their Commander-in-Chief.
