Prince Enoch Adebayo Akinde: Celebrating A Royal RCCG Pastor At 55.

By Charles Segun Adegbite

At age 55 Prince Enoch Adebayo Akinde is still far away from achieving all his life goals. But he is grateful to God for all he has accomplished so far in life, considering where he is coming from and how far God has helped him.

It's therefore in appreciation of God's mercy, for keeping him alive and healthy, that this Awori prince and the pastor in charge of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Divine Breakthrough Zone, Ogun Province 5, Sagamu, Ogun State, on Sunday, April 27, organised a thanksgiving service in celebration of his 55th birthday.

Being a man of many paths who also makes impacts wherever he goes, a lot of people from church/religion community, royal circle, business and corporate world, family and friends came to the church, both to celebrate his birthday with him and also join him in appreciating God.

WHO IS THIS MAN?
Prince Akinde, besides being a prince and respectable clergyman, is an astute business administrator, a trained marketer,  chartered Human Resources manager,  theological teacher and mechanized farmer.

HIS ROYAL PEDIGREE
He was born on 22nd April 1969 into a royal family of Okewaye Ruling House of Olofin Adimula of Ado Odo Kingdom by Late Mr Rasaki Akinde and Late Mrs Ashakun Ogunnike Akinde of Idofe Compound, in Idofe, Ado-Odo, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Prince Akinde, who was nominated by the Okewaye Ruling House of Ado Odo, for the throne of Olofin of Ado-Odo, to be the traditional ruler of Awori land in Ogun State, in February 7 this year, is a man of many parts.

This man, who we stylishly nicknamed "The Enoch of Aworiland", is a success-driven personality, whose success-oriented lifestyle has seen him traversing many areas of human endeavours.

HIS EDUCATIONAL STATUS
This prince attended United African Methodist Church(UAMC) Primary School, Eleja, Ado-Odo, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (1976-82). He then went to St. Stephen Commercial High School, Ado Odo, Otta, Ogun State, where he acquired his West African School Certificate(Ordinary Level) between 1982 and 1987.

In spite of his royal ancestry Akinde had a very humble beginning with a lot of challenges that hindered him from going to higher institution immediately after finishing his secondary school.

Consequently he proceeded to the then Ogun State Polytechnic (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) Abeokuta; where he studied and obtained National Diploma in Marketing (1994-97).
His strong desire to become a full graduate prompted him to later attend the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State in 2009; where he bagged Bachelor of Science(B.Sc) in Business Administration.

He also attended the Redeemer's University for Nations(RUN), Ede, Osun State, where he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management.

PROFESSIONAL CAPACITY
This royal pastor has developed his professional skills, through a lot of capacity building and professional training, to make him suitable for induction into the professional bodies in his areas of specialisation.

Consequently, he is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resources Management (MCIHRM), and so, he is a certified Chartered Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP).

He is also a member of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN), the association of pentecostal ministers of God in Nigeria.

HIS CAREER HISTORY
Today he is the Human Resources/Administrative Manager of an India company, Everest Metal Nigeria Limited. And is the only African in the management team of that expatriates company.

How did he get to that position of influence among the expatriates?

Well, his journey to the company has some precedents. As a man who has been working from childhood, being a farmer's son, he realised in his tutelage that the easiest way to become relevant in life is by being very hardworking.

After engaging in series of menial works in the informal sector, he joined the Pfizer Products Plc in 1989 as Motor Assistant. And he was promoted to the post of Line Inspector at the Quality Assurance Department of the company in 1991.

He occupied that position until 1994 when he left the company to study in higher institution.

After bagging diploma in 1997 he embarked on his one year Industrial Attachment programme at the Sales and Marketing Department of NYSIL Products Ltd, Otta, Ogun State. In 1998 he secured a Sales Executive job at Homus Industries Ltd.

In 2000 he became the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Pharez Industrial Enterprises. He left this position in 2008 to become the Personnel/Employees Relations Manager of a bigger company, Phoenix Steel Mills Ltd, to broaden his corporate experience, among other benefits.

In 2010, he was still occupying that position when he was offered higher appointment as Human Resources/Administrative Manager by another India company, Everest Metal Nigeria Limited.

As the only black man in the management team of the company, he has been able to make a lot of impacts and retained the position till date.

HIS BUSINESS ADVENTURES
While carrying out his professional practice in his workplace and also fulfilling his ministry assignment, he still find time to venture into agribusiness.

With proper planning and effective utilization of his time and other resources, he ventured into mechanised farming. He, through these, engage in both crop and fish farming.

He produces palm oil in large quantities, and do other farming activities

His leadership acumen soon created opportunity for him to become the chairman of Peculiar Farmers Cooperative Society.

SPIRITUAL/MINISTERIAL RELEVANCE
To be effective in his pastoral ministry, he attended the Redeemed Christian School of Disciples(RCSD) where he was awarded SoD Certificate. He was also schooled at  The Redeemed Christian Bible College (RCBC) where he bagged Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma(PGD) in Theology.

Within the Christian community, apart from being a pastor in charge of RCCG Divine Breakthrough Zone, he had been
the President of Redeemer's Men Fellowship(RMF) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG) for Ogun Province 5, before he got elevated to the regional level as the Secretary General of the RMF for Region 12. He had been the coordinator of The RCCG School of Disciples in Sagamu as well.

He is a former Coordinator of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Christian Union Alumni Fellowship (MAPOCUNAF) for Remo-Ijebu Chapter.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING & ACUMEN
Since habit, according to a Yoruba maxim, is like flame which can hardly be concealed, his leadership traits and skills easily expose him wherever he is.

These virtues easily endear him to almost everyone who met him; and these include his skilfulness in human relations, generosity and among others.

His thirst for constant improvement however, prompts him to regularly attend seminars, conferences and other training programmes.

In 2010 he embarked on Advanced Supervisory Management and Leadership Skill Workshop. He also attended Effective Presentation Skills in December 2010. In January 2011, he participated HIV/AIDS Counsellor Training. He thereafter engaged in Human Manager Training in December 2011. In July 2012, he participated in Management Development Course. He later attended Human Resources Business Foundation Course in July 2013.

Pastor Akindayomi: Son of the RCCG Founder

He extended his learning scope by engaging in Defensive Driving Training in December 2016. He was also involved in Building Effective Inter-functional Relationship training. He took part in Foundation For Business Execution course as well; both in December 2017.

Suffice to say that all these training programmes were engaged in while he was simultaneously embarking on his B.Sc course, and pastoring a church.

For him to impart more lives as a leader, he engaged in Coaching and Counselling Workshop and Career Development Training in March 2019. In February 2020, he participated in the Goal Setting Workshop. And in June same year he took part in HR Internal Consulting Workshop. He also got involved in Project Management Foundation training and Change Management course in April 2021.

Of course, this habit of constantly learning has contributed a lot to his leadership acumen, administrative prowess and intellectual capacity.
