For kneeling down to honour the newly coronated monarch, the Olu of Warri, HRM Ogiame Atuwatse III, a lot of mixed reactions have continued to trail former President Olusegun Obasanjo with his photograph trending on Instagram.

Of course, this is the kind of honour that many proud people won't want to give if they are in the class of Obasanjo.

Why? The new Olu of Warri is just 37years while Obasanjo is 84.

More so, Obasanjo is a retired general, elder statesman who had been Nigeria Head of State and left the position voluntarily in 1979, over four years before this new monarch was born in April 1984.

By the time Obasanjo became elected president of Nigeria also in 1999, the then Prince (now a monarch) was jut a secondary school boy.

The Olu of Warri however, is an Itsekiri Oba and they have historical connection with the Yoruba, The first Olu of Warri was a son of the Oba of Bini(Benin) and one of the descendants of Oduduwa, the progenitor of Yoruba race.

This was one of the reasons Obasanjo went there to pay homage to the young monarch after his coronation on Saturday.

"Give honour to whom honour is due", is a religious injunction from the Holy books .  But is  giving this kind of honour right or wrong ?
