In a display of political solidarity, leadership, and gratitude, the General Manager of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Kehinde Kenny Bello, brought together an impressive gathering of political leaders, government officials, and influential stakeholders for a grand thanksgiving celebration in honour of Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) following their victories at the recently concluded APC primary elections.

The event, christened the “Ileya Unity Gathering Thanksgiving Celebration,” took place at Palm View Estate, Ijebu-Ode, drawing prominent personalities from across Ogun State and beyond in what became more than just a celebration—it was a gathering that reflected political strength, shared aspirations, and collective commitment to the future of Ogun State.

The thanksgiving event was organised to celebrate the emergence of Governor Dapo Abiodun as the APC candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District and Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) as the party’s governorship candidate in Ogun State.

For many attendees, the gathering symbolised not only political victory but also recognition of leadership, consistency, and the growing influence of the two political figures whose careers have shaped conversations around governance and development in the state.

Addressing guests at the event, Hon. Kenny Bello described the gathering as an opportunity to appreciate God for His faithfulness and guidance over the public service journeys of both leaders.

According to him, the celebration was also a reflection of gratitude for the progress witnessed in Ogun State under Governor Abiodun’s administration and an affirmation of support for the next political chapter ahead.

He commended Governor Abiodun for what he described as transformative leadership through infrastructural development, economic reforms, and people-centred policies that have continued to strengthen Ogun State’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading investment destinations.

“As we approach the forthcoming elections in the state, Governor Dapo Abiodun has emerged as the APC candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District, while Senator Olamilekan Adeola has emerged as the party’s governorship candidate. We are fully committed to ensuring their victory at the polls,” Bello stated.

The OGEPA boss equally praised Senator Adeola for his legislative contributions, grassroots engagement, and commitment to development initiatives that have impacted communities across Ogun State.

The gathering also provided an opportunity for other political leaders to reinforce the importance of leadership continuity and collective progress.

In their goodwill messages, Hon. Samsideen Lawal and Hon. Lukman Adeleye, representing Ogun Waterside and Odogbolu State Constituencies respectively, applauded both Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola for what they described as purposeful leadership and dedication to governance.

The lawmakers highlighted the duo’s commitment to sustainable development, improved welfare, and people-oriented governance, while also commending Hon. Kenny Bello for convening what they described as a unifying and inspiring gathering.

Beyond politics, the event carried a strong spiritual and cultural significance.

Special prayers were offered for the continued success of the state government, while clerics and participants prayed for peace, unity, stability, and prosperity across Ogun State.

Adding colour and excitement to the celebration were musical performances from popular Fuji artiste, Taye Currency, whose performances created an atmosphere of celebration and camaraderie among guests.

As the event came to a close, one message resonated clearly among attendees: leadership is not only about occupying positions of authority but also about building relationships, inspiring loyalty, and creating platforms that unite people around shared visions.

Through the thanksgiving celebration, Hon. Bello succeeded not only in celebrating political victories but also in demonstrating the power of influence, gratitude, and leadership in shaping collective progress.
