In a condolence message issued through her Media Consultant, Charles Segun Adegbite, the former President of the National Council of Women's Societies (NCWS) wrote:

"With deep sorrow, I mourn the passing of Grace Adayilo, the first female and indigenous Head of Service of the FCT. She was a trailblazer, a mentor, and a shining example of integrity and excellence in public service.

"Her pioneering leadership broke barriers and inspired countless women to rise beyond limitations. Her legacy will forever live in the hearts of those she touched.

"May her soul rest in perfect peace."

Dr. Shoda, who currently serves as the President of the African Regional Council of Women and holds the chieftaincy title of  Erelu (Women Leader) of the Yoruba community in the FCT, Abuja, described Adayilo’s death as a painful loss to the nation and to women in leadership.
