Ex-Deputy Gov Badru, Prince Isiaka, Prof Odemuyiwa,  describe Gov Abiodun's victory, a well deserved honour.

The second term victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun at the primaries of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday has began to attract reactions.

"It's a Victory To Ogun State" -Alhaja Badru

Former deputy governor of the state during Otunba Gbenga Daniel's administration, Alhaja Salmot Makanjuola Badru, has described the election results as a peaceful one and an expression of party's confidence in his ability to govern the state well.

"It's a victory to Ogun State. The Congress was held to elect the governor for the second term; and it was a peaceful one. The party decided to go for the indirect primary. And that's why delegates from all the wàrds converged at the venue to vote.

"It's peaceful. And everybody was happy that it went well. For a governor who has done a lot in the last three years, I'm sure if given another opportunity, he would do much more than he has done now.

"It's really a successful congress. And we are all happy for it." She added.

 "His performance earned him the votes" -Prof Odemuyiwa

Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof Joseph Sunday Odemuyiwa described the victory of Prince Abiodun as a well deserved honour. 

"Governor Abiodun has earlier said that his second term would be earned. And I think he's voted for on the basis of his performance. As he got the second term votes at the party levels, he would also be voted for at the general election by the people of Ogun State". He said

"It's confirmation of his good performance by the party" - Prince Gboyega Isiaka (GNI)

Renowned governorship candidate in the state, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, fondly called GNI, said the second term ticket given to the Governor by his party was an approval of his leadership of the party and the state.

"It's a confirmation of his good performance in the last three years. It's an enforcement of his performance by his party members.

"I have no doubt in my mind that the general public would further give their ascent to that at the general election next year." He explained.

The governor who was elected in 2019 after facing a lot of obstacles within the APC before getting the party ticket in 2018, was reelected by the party at its congress on Thursday through indirect primaries ahead of 2023 general elections.

Other five APC gubernatorial contestants he defeated at the congress were: Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, Modele Sarafa - Yusuf, Chief Remilekun Bakare, Arc. Owodunni Opayemi and Biyi Otegbeye. They were physically absent but sent in agents to represent them.
